OK, honestly, I know there are 38 women featured in the 36 stories of this book, but there could be 38 Million… plus! I feel like every woman I’ve ever met should be in this book. On the pages of this website, and in the pages of the “Soul-to-Sisterhood” book, you will meet Divinely Feminine Females from all age ranges, all walks of life, and all aspects of motherhood. And that includes motherhood experiences that don’t involve human children. I believe that as women, no matter our age, no matter our life experience, we are ALL always giving birth to new things ALL the time. Think for a second how much you’ve managed to ‘birth’ since you woke up this morning. Go back and take a moment to really give yourself credit. On top of daily living, which in itself can be a painful labor and delivery process, you’ve probably created space for new perspectives, new understandings, new relationships, new opportunities, and so much more. See what a Powerful Creatrix you are!
Scroll down to meet the “Soul-to-Sisterhood” ladies. Read through their bios. Feel a connection to them. Allow their strengths and passions to create a conduit for you to more fully embody your own. Feel free to get in touch with them if their work inspires you. Together, let’s create a powerful and empowered network of Women-Supporting-Women. Spreading love… spreading connection… spreading joy…. and spreading truth.

Kristine was born in Sweden and during her travels in her twenties, she met the love of her life in the Dominican Republic. He was American, from Nebraska, and they traveled all over the world together from teaching English in Malaysia to doing accounting in Greece and working for a non-profit in Omaha, NE. They are happily married and have 3 kids together and 3 rescued beagles. Kristine is creating the movement Mom Vegan Love. She wants to show others how easy it is to go vegan and share her story of how she went from a complete carnivore, addicted to cigarettes and alcohol, to thriving on a 100% plant-based diet at nearly 40. Jamie loves being outside, barefoot around a fire. She also loves working in her garden, making jewelry, singing, reading, and cooking delicious Vegan food. Her biggest accomplishments, which include both of the loves of her life, are her daughter and her marriage. A close second to those are her work with her organization, Divine Mommy. Jamie comes from a strong line of creative and passionate women on both her mother’s and her father’s side. As a generous friend, daughter, mother, niece, and granddaughter, many of those in her inner circle are gifted with lovingly handmade items that reflect this honoring of the women who have come before her. Jamie loves to travel and study the feminist her-story perspectives of Goddess The(a)logy. She has studied with Vicki Noble, Riane Eisler, and Brooke Medicine Eagle and feels passionately about sharing the roots of egalitarian, interdependent living that was simultaneously creative, peaceful, harmonious, and successful. As a healer, she is consistently striving to release her own ego patterns of wounding and habituated dysfunction so that she may more fully and authentically step into her Divine Purpose. Jamie feels very passionately about Animal Rights, Earth’s Rights, Women’s Rights, Children’s Rights, Human Rights, and the healing of the archetypal energies of the Sacred Feminine and Sacred Masculine so that the new nuclear, and bi-nuclear family, can respectfully and lovingly include all beings. Kery is a fun-loving, adventurous yogi soul making it her mission to raise the vibration for family, for community, and for our Sacred Planet–Mother Earth! Kery grew up in the country, romping around acres of family land in the hills of Texas. Venturing beyond the simplicity of home, she discovered a world of adventure… backpacking mountains, kayaking under a waterfall, rope swinging in the jungle, hang-gliding through the skies, and scuba-diving vast oceans. Pregnancy brought new light… an awareness of a vibratory connection to creation. The I became We, and the We became Us. Kery began to understand true Yoga–Union. A powerful voice for nature from an early age, Kery’s daughter Gabby has been her greatest inspiration and teacher. After years of travel, study, and teaching, in the midst of a “What am I doing, what am I trying to teach, and who exactly am I trying to heal?” moment, the message came through loud and clear. It was palpable and emergent. “We must remember… reconnect to our roots… to the rhythms of nature, our divinity, our connection to each other and to all of life! This will be the key to planetary survival. You’ve been given the tools. Use them.” Kery’s work seeks to honor that very message. Her platform, Super Vibes, is a modern-day approach to timeless practices and philosophies from Yoga & Ayurveda. Courses are structured to get back to nature, to awaken that connection and cultivate compassion, inclusivity, and activism. Full of zany, inspirational, real life, and often messy NAMASTEs, Kery invites you to join her in raising the vibe… for yourself, your family, your community, and for this Sacred Planet- Our Mother Earth! Lovingly referred to as the “Super Hero Guru” by her students, Kery Helmer is a Physiologist and Yoga Therapist with a degree in Integrative Medicine. She has written programs such as: Reconnect to Your Inner Badass, Unleash Your Super Powers, and Simply KickASSana. Blending anatomy science with a holistic, mind body approach to health, she delivers her programs through international Yoga & Ayurveda Teachings, Stress Management Groups, Workshops, Teacher Trainings, and Retreats. Maria is the mother of two beautiful Brazilian-Mexican American girls, Olivia (10) and Leila (6). She met her life partner, Will, at a bilingual theater production in Boston and since then they have been on a wonderful adventure together. She grew up in Brazil and moved to the United States to pursue her love of theater over 15 years ago. Little did she know that in studying theater she would embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-knowledge, after all “theater is a mirror.” This creative self-inquiry led her to become a meditation teacher, certified by the Chopra Center, and an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. Today she combines all her passions into her own company, Atomica Arts, where she teaches applied theater, meditation, and Ayurveda or as she describes: the art of looking at human actions, the art of looking at ourselves, and the art of self-care. Maria teaches workshops and offers private consultations and classes in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She is a Reiki Master, lover of nature and herbs, a singer, a friend, a ritual maker, a community-oriented art lover, maker, and supporter. While she plays all these roles and more in this life, she is not the “roles” she plays. She is the player of roles and she thrives in guiding people to see how they are also the players and protagonists of their own lives! Hello, my name is Nancy and the blood that runs through my veins is the best of both cultures; Mexican and Puerto Rican—with a splash of Spanish. I have one beautiful 10-year-old girl whom I absolutely adore, and I am currently in a passionate, loving relationship with a man that lights my soul on fire. My childhood was a bit rough. I grew up in the ghettos of Los Angles. As a teen I was surround by some of the most wonderful friends I will ever know. These friends were drug dealers and gangsters, and they were also the people who loved and took care of me after my mom passed away when I was a teen. They often said to me "You're going to be a soccer mom one day. Don't do what we do…. there’s a lot of good in you!” Since then, I have learned to never judge a book by its cover. Today, I am a Certified Health & Fitness Coach and founder of ‘SKINN Coaching: A Space Where Women Feel Empowered to be Sensual, Kickass, Intuitive, Nourished, & No-Nonsense Women!’ With my business, I coach and empower women to accomplish the goals they have so longed for when it comes to Health, Sex, Self-Care and Fitness. In addition, I also offer all of this for men with my MANifest coaching. As founder of MANifest I help intuitive and successful men and leaders step into who they want to be and who they are mean to be with. With MANifest, I offer individual coaching as well as multiple day in-person and visual retreats. I am extraordinary because I have hit rock bottom, settled in the shit, drug myself out of the mud, and am now thriving. Because of the gift of my life experiences, I understand where most people are coming from. I also have a lot of compassion, understanding, and love for humanity. I feel passion for my entire life because I have been through the darkest nights and I want to share how we all can passionately thrive. If I had to choose my top priorities, I would say they are my dedication to self-love and self-care. I live each day making sure that I nourish my body, mind, and soul in ways that align with who I am and who I want to be. As a Health and Fitness Coach who teaches women how to tap into their best Health, Fitness, Sex and Self-Care, I walk my walk and talk my talk. Every day I strive to live my best life by nourishing my body with wholesome foods, moving my body in ways that feel strong and delicious, and aligning my inner being and my soul with positive, joyful, peaceful vibrations that others can feel. My life lessons, my pain, my energy, and my journey of healing allows me to be the Goddess of my own beautiful story. This story overflows into every area of my life—including my business, and my work helps others to realize that they too can heal, be healers, and become Goddesses. I am most proud of my willingness to overcome challenges, my willingness to welcome change, and my gift of being able to connect with almost anyone due to the compassion and love I have learned to have for myself. Emilie is celebrating over 8 decades of living. Her life has been rich, varied, unpredictable, sometimes fun, oftentimes challenging, stimulating, and, all-in-all, a fabulous trip. She has two children and her husband has five, so together, they have seven “children” all over the age of forty-nine. Together Emilie and her husband also have ten grandchildren, ranging in age from four to thirty-one, and they live all over the place. Emilie had one twenty-five-year marriage, which ended in divorce, and has just celebrated her 25th anniversary with her second husband, Frank. Emilie’s greatest ‘awesomeness’ is in her ability for and interest in listening. Sometimes, she listens so hard, that when someone asks her what she thinks, it takes time for her to change gears and switch back to her own perceptions and experiences. Emilie attribute this ability to be involved in her world, at whatever level, to her capacity for listening. She is passionate about honest communication, family, friendship, and social justice. The first three she can commit to, the fourth is often frustrating. Emilie is passionate about the first three because they make life worth living. She is passionate about the fourth because social injustice is just plain wrong. Personally, Emilie identifies as having benefited from “white” privilege. She had to live a long time before fully realizing the advantages this has provided, and she is dedicated to bringing awareness to this subject. Emilie wants everyone to have the same advantages and opportunities. She believes that we all deserve that. Emilie also tries to begin each day with a centering practice so that she can move through her moments with a genuine respect for all she encounters. This is about mutual respect and being true to her values. In this way, Emilie is a healer and a Goddess by “being there” for those she loves, and for others, if they seek her out. She is proud of her marriage and the family she and her husband have created together. She is proud of her modest but dedicated work for many communities. She is proud of developing her acting abilities after retirement. Most of all, she is proud that all of her family members know that her love for them is her first priority.
Nisla is a Florida native who loves feeling the energy vortexes of her home state. She is a dedicated mother to two gifted, amazing, creative, talented and goofy kids. Nisla is a healer and has been for her whole life. This innate talent is just something that she has always been able to do. A natural empath, she can sense another person’s pain and then transmute it and transform it into something beautiful. This ability has led her into her chosen career path as a massage therapist for over twenty-three years. As a child, Nisla can remember being called to place her hands on animals and family members if she sensed that they needed healing. The adults in her life were supportive of her talents, and Nisla’s mother even used to say that she would, “one day do something magical with her hands.” As a truth seeker, Nisla can see the truth in all paths and does not identify as one particular religious or spiritual philosophy. Her practice includes connecting to the energy of ‘all around her’ and utilizing that wisdom to inform her daily life. As a friend, Nisla is loyal and trustworthy. As a Goddess and way-shower, Nisla loves without conditions and walks her walk of open-heartedness in all of her relations. Her spiritual activism comes from her DNA and everything she does is an indication of her inclusive values. Living from this space, Nisla believes that we are all one. Civil Rights, LGBTQA Rights, and Human Rights are her passions and she feels that there is no space for an “other,” or “us vs. them,” mentality. As a healer, she finds it difficult to separate her work from her daily life, so she doesn’t. As she continues to heal herself from old patterns and cycles that no longer serve the greater good, she shares her wisdom and empowers others. She brings in the light through music, art, joy, and service. Surviving and being a survivor is who she is at her core, and she shares this side of herself with all she comes into contact with. She is most proud of her children, her twenty-seven-year marriage, her friendships, and her career. She has worked hard for the success of all of those things, and wants other women to be aware of their hard work and efforts, too. Gratefully, Nisla sees healing energy all around her all of the time, and when asked how her daughter got to be so wise, her daughter answered, “You mommy. I got it from you.”

On a life-long quest for learning and healing, Jacqueline has been dedicating her life to wholistic, authentic, and spiritual work to fully embody her unique ascension process and soul-based wisdom. Through this gift of motherhood, Jacqueline has been made keenly aware of the need for play, joy, and staying present. These principles are how she lives her life and they are embodied as a daily practice in her parenting, marriage, caretaking, self-care, and educational philosophies. Kristin is a born and bred beach girl who loves the mountains. She feels that the powerful, mysterious energy of the mountains is comfortingly grounding. Although her feet are currently on the warm sand, the shifting tides of the Ocean do not provide her the cool, protective, calming feelings of the Appalachian Mountain Range in wintertime. Her main focus, aside from the majestic peaks, are her two children. Together, she and her two children are self-proclaimed spitfires. They are always on the go, looking for new things and seeking out new adventures and their mischievous demeanor creates many opportunities to challenge any pre-disposed ideas of parenting. Kristin believes that parenting is an organic and malleable process; changing every week, day, and moment. This is based on her philosophy of meeting children where they are with curiosity and a desire to meet their needs. As a realistic optimist, Kristin is a way-shower of positivity and seeks to share this with her loved ones. She has learned from her female ancestors in close proximity, due to her current living situation hosting four generations of women under the same roof. She has dedicated herself to healing the feminine bloodline and this is consistently proven by the transformations she witnesses in her family members. Kristen has a degree in journalism from the University of Florida. Writing, as a form of release during emotionally tumultuous times, is a cathartic experience for her. Although she has not pursued a career in journalism, Kristin has defined herself professionally out of necessity. Being a single mother, she has manifested a particular niche of the real estate market in order to provide for her children. In the future, her goal is to gain complete financial independence, running her own business in a way that is empowering, flexible, and enjoyable. Today, Kristin maintains her hopes to become a voice of inspiration and self-worth for others.
Misty was born and raised in Gainesville, FL to a single mom who taught her the value of education, the importance of self-reliance, leading by example, and who would often say: "actions speak louder than words." She is the proud mother of an empathic, bright, and spirited 5 year-old daughter named Harper. She was married for 8 years but refuses to define herself as "divorced" because she believes that the image this label often conjures up (failure. quitter. sad. alone...) is not reflective of how she sees herself; rather, she knows that she is a strong, passionate, intelligent, altruistic, resilient, and driven woman. Misty earned a BA in Sociology from UF in 2009, an MSW from USF in 2012, and has since become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has served in various roles as a volunteer and employee in the child welfare system for 12 years. Currently, she serves as the Program Manager of a comprehensive, client-focused early psychosis treatment program at a mid-sized non-profit in Tampa... one of only 7 the entire state of Florida! Misty lives her life each day striving to carry out the mission and vision that she shares with her fierce, resilient, empathic mother, Yvonne: to improve the lives of all sentient beings and to change the world, one act of kindness at a time. She thrives on giving a voice to the (literal and figurative) voiceless, serving the under-served, and instilling hope in those who feel hopeless. Misty believes that the point of learning is to teach, the best part of living is to serve, and that we each have the strength to support our fellow Goddesses on the path to peace if we have the courage to heal ourselves first. As an editor on the Soul to Sisterhood book, combing through and digesting the experiences of each interviewee has reminded Misty that we are both hurt and healed in the context of relationships. Reading each story has also reinforced her belief that we must have the courage to be vulnerable in order to experience joy. Being a part of this project has led to immense personal growth, and Misty believes wholeheartedly that each person who reads these stories will feel less alone, more connected, and will develop a more positive self-image and optimistic outlook on life.

Mindy is a survivor, warrior, and fierce wild woman. Growing up in a divorced single household with her mother, grandmother, and sister taught her independence and resilience. She firmly believes that her dedication to feminism is due to this female led upbringing. Never buying into the concept of a ‘Man’s World,’ Mindy fully embraces the philosophy that women can and will do anything that they want. She mother’s her four children in this way and tirelessly works to walk her walk and talk her talk so that her children are learning by example. Mindy is also passionate about exploring the deep and vast Mystical Realms. Spiritualism is not only interesting to her, but her belief in magick is a way of life. She is extremely connected to nature and looks to the natural world for inspiration, guidance, and support. Gardening has proven to be a medicinal practice for Mindy, and you can oftentimes find her with her hands and feet in the dirt. An artist from a very young age, Mindy has always found peace and joy in her creativity. Mindy has been married to her current husband for five years. Although her marriage is far from perfect, Mindy and her husband both identify that together they have overcome many challenges. At this point, whether they remain married, or end in divorce, she has no doubt that they will continue to stay committed to each other and their family. Her children, spanning in age from 3 to 20, are all wildly unique and authentic souls. The love she has for her ‘wildlings’ is the most fiercely passionate vibration that she has ever felt, and Mindy sometimes wonders how she can carry so much unconditional love for the people who drive her completely bonkers. She is aspiring to one day become a Color Therapist with her own Bed and Breakfast. This dream, when made manifest, will encompass all of Mindy’s diverse artistic and creative talents. Once realized, she hopes to host healing and empowering retreats for women of all ages. Her friends all agree, Mindy is non-judgmental, her strength is contagious, and she is fiercely loyal. By being in this book, Mindy hopes her story motivates others to know that they too can persevere through the rough chapters of life.

In doing this, she regards and respects where her children are in the present moment, where they’ve been, and where they are going in the future. Being a mother also gives her a deeper perspective into her own life because it causes her, on a daily basis, to reconnect with her inner child. Paying attention to her inner-child and giving her what she needs, which is often pushed to the wayside when being an ‘adult,’ is an important process for Shelby in all of her personal and professional relationships. Professionally, her focus is on creating ways to empower people to acknowledge their inner healers by offering education, holistic alternatives, and sharing her diverse understanding and expansive wisdom of the CBD industry. For Shelby, CBD is a powerful conduit for teaching our bodies how to heal themselves and she is excited to be part of an industry that is causing medicine to be ‘of the people,’ as well as allowing us as a ‘human community’ to reconnect to Mother Earth. She is excited to be a part of the Soul-to-Sisterhood Project. For Shelby, she feels that this book will offer the Mother-Hug that we as women need, as well as provide the connection for sisterhood that women have thrived on for millennia. Shelby wants everyone to remember- “you are not alone, your story is unique, and you are supported.”
Katia is a woman who is redefining herself and her relationships. This process is born out of her need to follow her own truth in a way that is authentic, honest, compassionate, and focused on self-love. This important dedication for self-love is paramount for Katia as a single mother and provides her the opportunities to feel fulfilled and whole as a woman and as a person. She feels that in doing this, when energy gets scattered or frantic, she can return to herself, with self-love, and that is enough. She is enough. Having been born in Peru, and being from a Latin culture, even though things are changing, she remains steadfast in her beliefs that self-care is valid, that women can be empowered, and that the voices of women and children deserve to be heard. Often asked for her opinion by those closest to her, Katia knows that she offers fresh perspectives, new insights, and non-judgmental points of view on issues facing she and her fellow Sisters today. Katia also loves being herself and going with the flow. When she has the freedom to allow life to be what it is, she feels at peace and harmony with the world around her. Katia way-shows this for her two children. Allowing them to witness her authenticity as she parents from a place of mutual respect, Katia in turn, offers them the opportunity to learn compassion for themselves and others. She feels especially connected to her Soul-to-Sisterhood crystal, Cinnabar. She takes comfort in Cinnabar’s medicine that “all truly is in ‘Divine Timing’… and to allow things to be as they are so that the highest lessons may come forward.” She is honored to be a part of the Soul-to-Sisterhood project and is excited to think that her story will offer hope and support to the women who read the book. She lives by the quote: “I treat myself and others with respect, recognizing the inherent divinity in all people. When my energy becomes scattered, I come home to my source and the primary relationship with myself.”
Her friends all agree, Krissy, is a true gift. She has the wonderful and poignant talent of putting people at ease in every situation. A genuinely friendly and compassionate soul, when Krissy talks to you, you feel like you have met your brand-new best friend. She is an animal lover, a nature lover, a fantastic matchmaker with 5 marriages (for others, not her) under her belt, and she loves connecting people for personal and professional opportunities. Krissy is a laid-back mom to two very smart and energetic boys. Her parenting philosophy is one of common sense and she trusts her boys to learn from their mistakes, make good decisions in the future, and to become well-rounded, kind human beings. Some of her favorite family activates are- spending time traveling, exploring the outdoors, and embarking on kid-friendly adventures. Krissy has also had a very diverse career path. Currently, as a real estate broker, she loves finding the ideal home for her clients. She takes this connection very seriously and puts a great deal of time and effort into finding the perfect place to inspire her clients so that they may live their best, authentic lives. A spiritual practice that she embodies is sincerely getting to know people so that they, in return, may sincerely get to know her. This comes from a desire to live bold, free, and honest. Her mother likes to share the story of Krissy, age six-months, running in her crib even before she could walk. Since these early days, she has continued with this playful energy, and feels an appropriate life motto is: ‘We will definitely laugh about this someday.’ Krissy knows that sometimes failure really is the best way to learn. She also knows that no matter how many times you fall, you can always get back up again. Her hope for being involved with the Soul-to-Sisterhood project is to bring comfort to just one person. If that happens, she says “it is all worth it.” You can find her at her website: www.newviewnewu.com
Connie’s desire is to be present. She believes that it is important to be present in order to see and feel the gifts that life has to bring forward. This way of living allows her to address each day and each moment with integrity. As a decorative artist and muralist, Connie uses this awareness to connect to her hugely diverse clientele. Connie believes this honor of being able to genuinely connect to people is not just a job, but her Divine Purpose on Earth at this time, and she loves it! In her Art Studio, there is even an open table, creating a space to offer her clients and customers a place to say what they need to say, share from their hearts, and join in the loving give and take of authentic connection. Connie takes her work and this dedication to her clients very seriously. She feels it is her responsibility to cultivate her art in her own heart and soul initially so that she, in turn, may give it away to others. Connie has a committed yoga and meditation practice because she wants to take care of her body, bring emotional balance to her personal life, and maintain the personal peace necessary to be happy and joyful. One of her biggest delights in life is working with children, especially first through third graders, because they carry love in their hearts continuously. Her hope in teaching yoga and art to these special beings is for them to learn how to carry this joy and love in their hearts forever. Connie also believes that children all need a way to express themselves, without boundaries, and for her, art is a great conduit to do that….All of the hugs and love that she receives from those kiddos, are also a major benefit. As an artist involved with Soul to Sisterhood, Connie feels that each woman has a specific message for her as she chooses the precise colors and images for their Oracle Cards. Reading the stories, Connie is inspired by each woman’s grace, truth, and courage. At the same time, she absorbs each woman and her experiences with humility as she embraces the empowerment and inspiration coming forth. This collaboration has given her a newfound appreciation for ALL women. Connie sees women differently now, noticing the heartfelt and soul-based depth that each woman possesses. She feels that this project has made her aware of this feminine complexity, and she wants the world to respond in-kind, treating each woman walking the planet with love, respect, and admiration. As the middle child in her family constellation, Kei grew up with a strong parental attitude, assuming the care-taking role for her younger siblings and the household at large. Growing up in Sarasota, Florida in the 60’s, both of her parents worked to ensure that the financial basics were provided for she and her sister and her two brothers. Due to a hugely strong work ethic, and the foresight of her mother who insisted on dance and music instruction, the creative arts became the pillars of Kei’s existence. These, along with the particles of her creative spirit, and the complexities of she and her siblings’ individuality, are something that Kei is very proud of. Of the four original children, only one marriage produced a single blessing, the only grandchild, the beautiful Allison who would barely reach her 26th birthday. Founding “The Friends of Allison”, Kei wishes to bring Allison’s message of caring, acceptance, self-love, and nurturing the unique and the diverse, through her annual remembrance concerts. Kei directs your attention to the said-named Facebook page, The Friends of Allison, where visual and thoughtful posts are meant to beacon the foundering spirit. The website, www.thefriendsofallison.com, gratefully accepts donations, which are managed by The Church of the Redeemer, and focuses on providing aid to families and individuals suffering loss. Through the years, Kei has traded in her many jobs in human services, to work in the arts. She is a sacred singer for houses of worship, and the occasional pick-up gig, being herself a vocalist of diverse styles.
Jaana has a strong connection to San Francisco, where she is from, and she believes that this has shaped her ideologies for race and culture. Being surrounded by diversity as part of growing up in the city, she never realized, until she traveled to other places, that inclusion did not exist everywhere. This has also influenced her as an adult and has informed her parenting choices to become a mother to a child of a different race. This definitely ties in with Jaana’s professional life. As a teacher, she is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the sensitivity needed to understand and accept how families can contain many different cultures. Her philosophies for early childhood education are based in supporting the family unit as a whole. For her, connecting to the child and the child’s family, forming a bond and relationship with all involved, is a great way to ensure that everyone feels welcome. This translates in the classroom as a respect for each child and then, in turn, for each child to appreciate and recognize both the differences and the similarities that exist between us. all Leading by example, she hopes that this inclusive energy will follow all of her students throughout their lives, and be reflected in later relationships to themselves, others, and the Earth. Jaana’s daughter agrees, her mom’s personal philosophies and ways of life have given her a strong respect for and understanding of different cultures, different races, and diversity. Jaana and her husband have been together 21 years and married since 2001. She credits the mutually shared support and respect for each other’s personal growth as a major contributing factor to their continued success. As a woman, wife, teacher, and mother, her goal, just like the well-known quote from Ghandi, is to ‘be the change she wants to see in the world.’

Allison- also nicknamed “Alli-Cat” as a youngster, and then "Gator" in college, is now simply known as Mrs., Ms. Allison, Allison, and Mommy. She is a dedicated wife and a loving mother to two beautifully crazy energetic, hilarious boys and to three rescued fur babies. Allison grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and was raised by two music teacher parents and her "Greek mom,”- a neighbor whom she met at the age of 6 when she was bitten by her dog while walking in the neighborhood. All three of these adults were monumental in her upbringing and continue to be today. Allison is also a twin. Knowing from a pretty early age that she wanted to be in social work, she obtained a Bachelor of Social Work and soon went on to work with children in the foster care system. After obtaining her MA in Mental Health Counseling, Allison continued her journey, working in agencies that fulfilled her passion for helping others. During that time, she also learned ballroom dance, taught Zumba in local gyms, got married, had her children, and met tons of wonderful colleagues and friends along the way. Through these friends, she found her current work at a local high school where she works through a contracted agency as a Student Assistant Program Specialist. This is basically her dream job because she gets to help teens in need, whatever that looks like to them, every damn day!!! Although, please note here that she does not curse at school…she swears! Her work at the high school has also brought other opportunities that she couldn't pass up. In addition, she is the PBIS Coach (Positive Behavior in Schools) and the sponsor for the school’s GSA Club (Gender & Sexualities Alliance) and Coexistence Club through, “Embracing Our Differences.” Allison is an honest human, and although some don’t like it, she feels this is one of her most awesome qualities. She is extremely passionate about working on her marriage and strengthening the partnership with her husband. She is also extremely passionate about providing opportunities for her children. She has given up comforts and indulgences to give them the opportunities they ask for. Drama classes, sports, museum visits, and musical theater tickets always outweigh any wish on her list while she is raising these humans. She loves to see her children learn and will do anything to provide the pallet that inspires them. This is true in her work as well. Her office is adorned with moon sand, a dammit doll, art supplies, essential oils, and classical or relaxing music so that her students have the opportunity to find their peace using the tools within reach. Allison is a genuine person and does the kind thing even when no one is watching. She keeps herself in check and tries really hard NOT to make assumptions…. and when she does, she communicates openly about what story she is telling herself in her headspace. Her friends and colleagues agree, she is a healer Goddess in all aspects of her life. With her open heart, friendliness, talents and abilities, Allison is a wonderful asset in any situation. Allison also spends 10 weekends a year working for a non-profit called Deliver the Dream. Deliver the Dream offers retreats weekends, free of charge, to families in need that identify with one of the 10 retreats DTD provides. It's a weekend of connection, fun, play and restoration. Check out: www.deliverthedream.org, embracingourdifferences.org, and www.mysuncoast.com.
Gabby is a young woman who loves all things Disney. Her dream is to go to all of the parks all around the world, ride all of the rides, and someday, hopefully work for the Big Mouse. Dancing since she was two years old, Gabby has danced with four different dance companies, performed on a competitive team for two years, and currently is finding pleasure in collaborative choreography, production design, music composition, and expressive dance. Ever the consummate artist, Gabby loves telling stories with her art, her singing, her dancing, and her newest passion- photography. She loves photography because she feels photography can capture the best moments of life. She learns about stories, feelings, and people with her photography work. She is also inspired to learn about other cultures and places of the world through the lens of her camera. Also, a devout conservationist, Gabby’s dream is to create a plastic-free world. She loves the Earth and all of Mother Earth’s inhabitants, and she is positive that she can make this world a better place. Inspired by innovative ideas Gabby is dedicated to interventions that focus on rehabilitation, awareness, kindness, and compassion. Gabby loves diversity and she admits that she could be a professional traveler when she grows up. Her newest goal is to take her momma to visit the elephant sanctuaries in Thailand. Sometimes feeling more connected to animals than to people, Gabby has a rough time understanding how anyone could feel that humans are above, or more valuable, than any other living being. Gabby also loves dogs, and currently gives unlimited hugs and kisses to her two amazing pups, Greta and Daisy. Her hope for being involved in the Soul-to-Sisterhood project is to inspire people to be the best versions of themselves that they can be. She also just thinks it is really cool.
Elizabeth splits her time between the Northern Midwest and Florida. She loves the sunshine, the beaches, and the relaxing winters of Florida’s year-long green season. You will find her in a puffer coat when it goes below 70 degrees. She has worked in the arts and in finance and today keeps herself busy with exercise, home renovations, reading, decorating, buying things from Wayfair and sending them back, following interior designers on Instagram, finding the greatest handyman in the world, watching “Sister Wives” on TLC, and hanging out with her husband every day and all day. Last year, Elizabeth’s interest in Color Theory got piqued when she found Maria Killam and her ‘Neutral Colour Undertone System’ on Pinterest. Elizabeth is now an avid student of her ‘System for Specifying Colour and Understanding Undertones’ and voraciously reads all of her blog posts. One could almost say that Elizabeth is leaning towards passion for undertones, but we won’t go there. She is honored to be in the Soul-to-Sisterhood book and in the company of such interesting and thoughtful women. She hopes in the future she can spend more time with them and learn from them. Her friends all agree, Elizabeth is funny, fun, real, and very down to earth. Although she is an introvert, she really likes people and trying new things. She also loves travel, the arts, music- especially jazz- and living peacefully.
Jacki has always been emphatic and intuitive. Even as a very young child growing up in the rural area of South Florida, she would receive messages and visions. When she was young, her gifts scared her… but with age also comes wisdom, and now she has learned to channel and embrace these wonderful abilities. Today, as an open Empath, Intuitive, Psychic, Medium Life Guide, Reiki Master, Writer, and Inspirational Speaker, Jacki loves helping people expand their worlds, showing them how to reconnect to their inner essence and embrace who they are while learning how to free themselves from whatever is holding them back. Jacki loves to be in nature and feels that this connection is a huge missing piece in modern living. With nature being one of the biggest keys to a grounded and connected life, Jacki works daily to maintain her connection so that she can stay strong and grounded. Knowing we all make mistakes; Jacki seeks to teach with the question: ‘are they truly mistakes or are they lessons from the Universe put in our path to help us learn and grow?’ Jacki lives by the principle that judgements and criticisms reflect a lack of self-love and does not let other’s opinions bother her. She feels many of us spend too much time in negative patterns of self-judgment and self-criticism and that when are always looking for what is wrong or something to blame, we are taking away our own power. After much study, Jacki knows that living this way can have long term effects on physical, emotional, and mental health. Because of this, she is very passionate about a more holistic approach to living, loving, and being. She also feels that only with love and compassion will we truly find out who we are. To her, this is the cornerstone of being an evolved and connected being. Jacki has had the honor of raising three amazing and unique children. In raising a daughter, she was dedicated to teaching her the values of feminine strength and feminine empowerment. In raising her two sons, she was dedicated to creating an environment where they could honestly express their emotions. Jacki wants all of her children to know their value, to stand strong in their independence, to respect themselves, and to honor their integrity. She also hopes her children and grandchild embrace love and life with joy and innocence- always being kind, respectful, and of course, connected to Mother Earth. Being the person that friends and family go to during stress and difficult times, Jacki has always had a gift of deep understanding for people’s experiences, saying what needs to be said, and offering different perspectives for healing and transformation. In addition, Jacki values her own healing transformation. She spent years living in fear and anxiety. Today, she has learned to fully embrace and enjoy the small things… a beautiful sunset, the laughter of a child, waves lapping on the shore… these things that money cannot buy are her currency for inner peace and joy. To learn more about Jacki and to work with her, you can check out her blog posts and you tube videos at: www.JackiZimmerman.com and www.OurKindredMinds.com. She offers Private Readings, Intuitive Life Guidance, Re-Connecting to Self Retreats, and Inspirational Public Speaking. Her book, “Living for Balanced Mental Health” will be available next Fall.
Stella is an average person living a life of extraordinary opportunities. Learning to let go of what she thought she wanted out of life and accepting what life is consistently giving her has been a true lesson in receiving love. For the past two years, this lesson has been exemplified by the blessing of going back to school to pursue her degree as a Registered Nurse. A career path that before she had never even considered, after being immersed in her studies and clinical work, Stella identifies that becoming a nurse will allow innumerable opportunities to connect and heal with the power of love. An avid horse lover, Stella has been cultivating a relationship with horses for most of her life. She values the equine spirit and views horses as generous teachers and healers of humanity. Stella has a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, and she is also a certified Equine Massage Therapist. Helping horses feel better is a perfect fit for Stella. This dedication is more of a passion for her because she views Equine Massage Therapy work as a way to give back. She loves meeting new horses. She loves working on her own horses. In fact, Stella has never met a horse she didn’t like. As a mother of three extraordinary humans, Stella is a very dedicated parent. She feels that the experiences of motherhood are indescribable and finds this aspect of her life to be simultaneously the most challenging and the most rewarding. Stella has a dream for helping children in need and one day plans to create an Equine Therapy Camp to support children with disabilities as well as children who have experienced trauma. In October of 2020, Stella will graduate from nursing school and she is very excited about changing the world.
Elizabeth’s spirit for social work started in Elementary School and this dedication progressed on throughout her educational career. While in college, she volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and since then, her interest in mentorship has blossomed into a wide and varied calling. For almost two decades now, Elizabeth has woven her passion for social justice into her everyday life. This devotion is evidenced by her education, her time in the US Army, her dedication as a Foster Parent, and her current graduate studies in Criminology and Criminal Justice. While on Active Duty from 2006 to 2014, Elizabeth deployed three times and served as Platoon Leader, Company Commander, and Partnership Chief. Today, she serves as a Major in the US Army Reserve. Five years ago, she followed her heart and became a Licensed Foster Parent. This part of Elizabeth’s life provides a rich opportunity to support children and families in her local community. As a well-informed advocate, Elizabeth identifies the essential and necessary shifts required to make a difference for families in need. From her perspective as a Foster Parent, she advocates for support for all involved as a necessity- not a luxury- and co-parenting with these families as they work to reinstate custodial rights is one of her favorite aspects of the vocation. Out of a genuine desire to maintain a level of connection and care, she is still in touch with many of the families that she has helped and to date, along with her ex-partner, she has fostered fourteen children. One of her biggest accomplishments has been becoming a parent. Elizabeth has adopted three children that she has been lucky enough to foster. As a single mom, times - especially bedtimes, bath times, and dinner times - can get pretty crazy! While currently in graduate school, she works as a security and risk management consultant and court-qualified expert. Elizabeth made the decision to go back to graduate school and when finished with her thesis, she plans to carry on with her studies and apply for the Ph.D. program in Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University. After her dissertation is complete, Elizabeth plans to continue the writing and hopes to pen new and innovative governmental policies that will reflect more compassion and clinical assessment for addressing the rehabilitation and recidivism within our penal systems. Elizabeth is grateful to be involved in the Soul-to-Sisterhood project and hopes that by sharing her story, she offers others an option to learn from her life-lessons. She wants people to feel empowered and independent in their choices to follow their own paths, whatever those paths may be. Through her work, she hopes to inspire us all to look at each other with empathy and respond to each other with humility, to let go of the fear of failure, and to remember that we never have to be encumbered by someone else’s opinion.
Monika has lived in Sweden her entire life but traveled a lot overseas. She is the proud mother and grandmother of a daughter and son-in-law and three very intelligent, beautiful and empathetic grandchildren- all who currently reside in Florida. She misses her family terribly and looks forward to being able to travel to see them again soon! She and her husband have been married for more than forty-five years. Together, they enjoy traveling, walking, being in nature, going to museums, theater, opera, and reading good books. It is difficult to choose her favorite place to visit but celebrating New Year’s Eve in Barbados with her family in the early 90s is one of her fondest memories. Seeing Santa on a Pirate Ship while drinking Rum Punch is hard to forget! Monika is a graduate of the Stockholm School of Economics which is the most prestigious school of economics in Sweden. She held the esteemed title of Chief Financial Officer of the Swedish Dairies Association (100 employees). Towards the end of her career there she was also the head of Human Resources including overseeing the best experts in the Swedish Dairy Industry. Monika is an avid reader. The Norwegian Nobel Prize Winner Sigrid Undset’s book Kristin Lavransdotter is one of her favorites. After reading this well-loved trilogy, she was so inspired that she named her daughter after the heroine. She also loves reading other international writers, including the American author Tara Westover’s new memoir “Educated.” Monika feels that it is very important for women to understand their role in their own financial security. For women, regardless of their marital status, it is crucial to her that we view our finances as equivalent to that of our spouses and partners. She also wants everyone to know that no matter what, you can always come back. Monika advises - just be curious. You can always go back to school. You can always improve your studies. University, college, work… whatever you choose, it is never too late to follow your dreams. Monika feels that today it is even more important for us all to continue to learn. Our lives will change. Our employment will change. Everything changes. Flow with the times. Flow with what is happening in society. She believes that we can all continue to evolve.
